The fisherman standing beneath the Yellow River bridge is unimpressed as 250 tons of GB&W locomotives pass overhead.

The water was very calm on this June afternoon when Bill Christopher captured an eastbound freight train crossing the Yellow River bridge at Dexterville, about 15 miles west of Wisconsin Rapids. The half-through truss ("pony truss") bridge was very similar to the bridge over the Trempealeau River at Dodge. Both were built by Wisconsin Bridge & Iron. The dam in the background impounds Lake Dexter.

Fishing is good in under the railroad bridge; the waters are open year-round for hook and line angling.
