A very late eastbound Train No. 2 pauses next to the Plover way
        freight
        at Plover, Wis.

During the summer months, the Plover way freight's power was kept at
Plover and the crew which was based in Wisconsin Rapids reported for
duty there -- since it eliminated running time to and from Rapids, 15
miles away, thereby eliminating violating the "hog law" (a
federal law that limits train crews to no more than twelve hours of
continuous duty) during the busy summer season.
