Flooding of the Trempealeau River often washed out the tracks on the
Whitehall Division.

The Green Bay Route fought a never ending battle against flooding of the Trempealeau
River.
This postcard picture shows flood damage near
Arcadia (milepost 192).  The message reads in part: "Had a flood here Sunday. Everything in a terrible condition."
We're not sure if they were referring to the flood shown in the postcard,
however.
A cropped version of this photo appears in The Story Of The Green Bay And
Western by Ray and Ellen Sprecht (1966).
